Sometimes, team members may face situations where they are unable to apply for leave themselves. This could be due to technical issues, lack of internet access, or an urgent situation. In these cases, managers can apply for leave on their behalf. This helps keep attendance records accurate and operations smooth.
Admins can easily allow managers to apply for leave on their team members' behalf by granting them access to apply for leave, RH, and comp off.
As an admin, you need to turn on (enable) special permissions to let managers apply for leave, restricted holidays (RH), comp off, or cancel leave for their team members.
To do this, from the greytHR Admin portal, go to the Settings icon > User Administration > User > User Roles.Â
Select the Manager user card and click Edit.
Select the category as Leave - Manager.Â
Select the Read Access and Write Access checkboxes for the features such as Apply Leave Cancel On Behalf, Apply Leave On Behalf, and Apply Restricted Holiday On Behalf and save it.
As an admin, you can also enable automatic leave approval for requests submitted by managers or other admins.
All apply-on-behalf leave requests can be configured to be auto-approved from the Leave Rules page.
As an admin, you can also enable automatic leave approval for requests submitted by managers or other admins.
To do this, go to Settings > System Settings > Leave > Leave Rules.
Under Grant Settings, select Workflow Settings.
Set the following options to Yes:
Can leave be auto-approved when manager applies on behalf?
Can leave be auto-approved when admin applies on behalf?
Note:
The details of the auto-approved leave will be visible in the employees Leave Balances page.
Since the leave is auto-approved, the request directly moves to the History tab, skipping the Pending tab, unlike standard requests which remain pending until approval.
