Overriding shift details refers to the process of manually changing or modifying the assigned shift details for an employee within a time and attendance system or software. It allows administrators or supervisors to make temporary or ad-hoc adjustments to an employee's scheduled shift.
The Shift Override page in the greytHR Admin portal enables you to override the existing shift details of one or more employees for a required calendar year. The page displays the shift override details of employees such as Employee No, Name, From Date, To Date, and Shift.
To view the Shift Override page, click Leave > Admin > Shift Override.
You can perform the following actions on the Shift Override page:
Override shift details of an employee.
Override shift details of multiple employees.
Override shift details of all employees.
To override the shift details of an employee, perform the following actions:
On the Shift Override page, click the Override button. A form appears.
Select the Search employees option.
From the select an employee search box, enter the employee name or number for whom you want to override the shift details.
From the From Date and To Date dropdown calendars, select the required dates.
From the Shift dropdown list, select the required shift.
In the Reason textbox, enter the relevant reason.
Click Save to override the shift details of the selected employee. A success message appears.
To override the shift details of multiple employees, perform the following actions:
On the Shift Override page, click the Override button. A form appears.
Select the Selected employees option. A list of employees appears.
Using the Employee and Employee Filter dropdown filters, customize the list of employees for whom you want to override the shift details.
Select the employees using the checkboxes available next to Emp No.
From the From Date and To Date dropdown calendars, select the required dates.
From the Shift dropdown list, select the required shift.
In the Reason textbox, enter the relevant reason.
Click Save to override the shift details of the selected employees. A success message appears.
To override the shift details of all the employees, perform the following actions:
On the Shift Override page, click the Override button. A form appears.
Select the All employees option.
From the From Date and To Date dropdown calendars, select the required dates.
From the Shift dropdown list, select the required shift.
In the Reason textbox, enter the relevant reason.
Click Save to override the shift details of all employees. A success message appears.
Note:
An employee receives an email notification when the admin/manager changes the shift.
You can also edit/delete the shift override details using the Edit/Delete icons available on the required row.
