Here is the feature comparison of Starter and Essential plans:

Core HR module:

Both the Starter and Essential plan users have access to this module. 

Employee Information Management: 

Both the Starter (up to 25 active employees) and Essential plan users have access to this module. The Employee Information Management module has the following features: 

  • Features available under both the Starter and Essential plans:

    • An extensive employee database as a system of record.

    • 20+ employee data categories: Starter plan users have access only up to 3 default categories - Location, Department, and Designation. Essential plan users have complete access.

    • Reporting hierarchy with an org chart.

    • Employee directory.

    • HR and CEO dashboards.

  • Features available only under the Essential plan:

    • Employees' asset tracking.

Know your Employee (KYE):

Both the Starter and Essential plan users have access to this module. The Know your Employee (KYE) module has the following features:

  • Features available under both plans:

    • Store various employee identity information. In the Starter plan, all existing types of identity information get updated while adding an employee/basic information.

  • Features available only under the Essential plan:

    • Track verified status (Aadhar verified, PAN verified, etc.).

    • Easy online facility to collect identity data. The Data Drive feature is restricted for Starter plan users.

Letters:

Both the Starter and Essential plan users have access to this module. The Letters module has the following features:

  • Features available under both plans:

    • Employee letter preparation in a few clicks - The Starter plan users have only up to 3 letter templates - Default configured letters (users can use only prebuild formats). Users can create an appointment, relieving, and confirmation letters.

    • Automatic serial numbering.

    • Emailing and automatic letter filing in employee records.

  • Features available only under the Essential plan:

    • Custom fields for maximum flexibility.

    • Letter gallery with prebuilt formats.

Employee Documents Management:

Only Essential plan users have access to this module. The Employee Documents Management module has the following features:

  • Features available under both plans:

    • Online access to all issued letters and documents.

    • Antivirus scanning for all uploaded documents.

    • Automatic filing of generated letters to the document store.

  • Features available only under the Essential plan:

    • Store digital or scanned copies of employees' documents.

    • Bulk documents upload.

Company Policies and Forms:

Both the Starter and Essential plan users have access to this module. The Company Policies and Forms module has the following features:

  • Features available under both plans:

    • Publish all company policies and employee handbook.

  • Features available only under the Essential plan:

    • Group-wise targeting of published documents.

    • Publish all commonly required forms and templates.

Employee Communication:

Both the Starter and Essential plan users have access to this module. The Employee Communication module has the following features:

    • Mass communication to groups of employees by mail/SMS feature is restricted to 50 SMS under the Starter plan.

    • 100+ pre-built system and employee lifecycle events restricted up to 5 life cycle events under the Starter plan.

    • Notifications by email and social feeds.

  • Features available only under the Essential plan:

    • Highly customizable reminders and alert system.

    • Full configurable notification templates (mail, SMS, etc.).

    • SMS and mobile push notifications.

HR Reports:

Both the Starter and Essential plan users have access to this module. The HR Reports module has the following features:

Payroll module:

Loans and Salary Advances:

Only Essential plan users have access to this module.

Statutory Compliances:

Both the Starter and Essential plan users have access to this module. The Statutory Compliances module has the following features:

    • PF calculations with ECR generation. In the Starter plan, only PF calculations are configured.

    • ESI computations. In the Starter plan, challans and reports are not computed.

    • Profession tax with all state-specific rules built-in. In the Starter plan, challans are not computed.

    • Labour welfare fund calculation and deductions. In the Starter plan, challans and reports are not computed.

  • Features available only under the Essential plan:

    • Comprehensive TDS (IT) calculations.

    • Digitally signed Form 16 generation.

    • Easy Form 24Q generation and automatic FVU validation.

    • Bonus calculations and reporting.

Payroll Processing:

Both the Starter and Essential plan users have access to this module. The Payroll Processing module has the following features:

  • Features available under both plans:

    • Single click payroll process.

    • Guided payroll processing with a checklist.

    • Lock feature to close payroll processing.

Verification and Reconciliations: 

Only Essential plan users have access to this module. The Verification and Reconciliations module has the following features:

  • Features available under both plans:

    • Easy export to excel facility.

  • Features available only under the Essential plan:

    • Extensive reconciliation tools.

    • Payroll comparison and difference analysis.

    • Highly customizable salary register and payroll statements.

Accounts JV:

Only Essential plan users have access to this module. The Accounts JV module has the following features:

  • Features available under both plans:

    • Highly configurable Accounts JV with split by cost center/employees. In the Starter plan, two prebuilt formats (CTC and Salary Register) are provided by default.

  • Features available only under the Essential plan:

    • Inbuilt formats for tally and QBO.

    • Extensive excel output capabilities.

Payout and Disbursements: 

Both the Starter and Essential plan have access to this module. The Payout and Disbursements module has the following features:

  • Features available only under the Essential plan:

    • Handle multiple payment modes - cash, cheque, and bank transfer.

    • All major bank transfer electronic formats are built-in.

    • Facility to release payments in batches.

    • Facility to track the status of cash and cheque payments.

Payslip Generation and Distribution:

Both the Starter and Essential plan have access to this module. The Payslip Generation and Distribution module has the following features:

  • Features available under both plans:

    • Payslip gallery with multiple payslip formats. Only a basic format is available in the Starter plan.

    • One-click payslip distribution.

    • Distribute by mail, employee portal, or mobile. E-Mail of payslips is restricted under the Starter plan.

  • Features available only under the Essential plan:

    • Separate reimbursement payslips.

    • Download payslips into single or multiple PDF files.

Payroll reports:

Both the Starter and Essential plan users have access to this module. The Payroll reports module has the following features:

  • Features available under both plans:

    • Profession tax reports.

  • Features available only under the Essential plan:

    • Reconciliation reports.

    • MIS reports.

    • Adhoc report builder.

    • Customizable payroll statement/salary register/wage register.

    • Reports under Shops and Establishment Acts of various states.

    • Reports under the CLRA Act of various states.

    • Digitally signed Form 16 and Form 24Q files with FVU validation.

Leave Management module:

Both the Starter and Essential plan users have access to this module.

Fully Customizable Leave Policies:

Only Essential plan users have access to this module. The Fully Customizable Leave Policies module has the following features:

In the Starter plan, the default leave year is January to December.

  • Features available under both plans:

    • Supports multiple types of leave transactions.

    • Holiday lists

    • Under the Starter plan, the unlimited leave types feature is restricted to up to 4 leave types, such as EL, PTL, ML, and SL, without the auto grant.

  • Features available only under the Essential plan:

    • Multiple leave policies for different groups of employees.

    • Unlimited leave types (Annual, privilege, maternity, etc.)

    • Customizable leave policy for each leave type.

    • Restricted (optional) holiday support.

Manage balance and transactions:

Both the Starter and Essential plan users have access to this module. The Manage balance and transactions module have the following features:

  • Features available under both plans:

    • Automatic tracking of leave balances.

    • Under the Starter plan, the easy year-end processing (lapsing and carry-forward) feature must be processed manually.

    • Online leave application and review.

Attendance module:

Both the Starter and Essential plan have access to this module.

Swipe captured from varied sources:

Only the Starter plan users have access to this module. The Swipe Captured from varied sources module has the following features:

  • Features available only under the Starter plan:

    • Online attendance marking.

    • Mobile attendance marking.

  • Features unavailable under both plans:

    • Integration with attendance recording devices.

    • Geofence

    • Face recognition kiosk.

Extensive Shift Management:

Only the Starter plan users have access to this module.

  • Features unavailable under both plans:

    • Support for the multiple shifts feature is restricted to only default shifts from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. under the Starter plan.

    • Shift management with automatic rotation.

    • Easy shift rostering by line managers for their teams.

    • Sophisticated business rules for attendance exceptions.

Highly configurable policies:

Both the Starter and Essential plan do not have access to this module. The Highly Configurable policies module has the following features:

  • Features unavailable under both plans:

    • Multiple attendance policies for different groups.

    • Customizable weekends.

  • Features available under the Starter plan:

    • Flexi hours support (FIT/LOT Concept)

    • Penalize unauthorized absences such as late in, early out, and shortfall. It is limited to the following three basic penalty rules: Unauthorized Absence, Half Day Min hours, Full Day Min hours with default 4hrs and 8hrs.

Attendance Processing:

Only the Starter plan users have access to this module. The Attendance Processing module has the following features:

  • Features available under the Starter plan:

    • Automatic daily attendance processing.

    • Attendance regularization workflow.

    • Month-end HR review and finalization facility.

    • Manual override facility.

    • Attendance muster generation.

  • Features unavailable under both plans:

Overtime Management:

Employee Self Onboarding:

Only the Starter plan users have access to this module. The Employee Self Onboarding module has the following features:

    • Personalized and paperless onboarding of employees with restricted employee data fields. Only basic data can be collected.

    • Workflows for admin review.

    • Alerts and reminders for employees and admin.

  • Features available only under the Essential plan:

Onboarding Support and Support plans:

The Starter and Essential plan users do not have access to this module.

Database Limits and Backup:

Under the Starter plan, the database storage is limited to 250MB. Under the Essential plan, database storage is unlimited.
