Add attendance exception

Updated inย August - 2024 |ย Subscribe to watch greytHR how-to video

Adding an attendance exception means keeping a record of any unusual or unexpected occurrences in an employee's attendance, like arriving late, leaving early, or taking unauthorized absences or long breaks. It helps track deviations from the regular work schedule and ensures adherence to attendance policies.

The Attendance Exception page in the greytHR Admin portal allows you to add an exception in attendance. This is required when the employee needs to allow an exception to attendance. Adding an exception is helpful if the employee cannot swipe attendance conventionally due to official reasons. In case an exception is not added for an employee, loss of pay occurs.

The Attendance Exception page displays the list of employees for whom attendance exception is already added. You can also view the details such as Employee No, Name, From Date, To Date, and Status.ย ย

To view the Attendance Exception page, click Leave > Admin > Attendance Exception.

Add exception details

To add exception details for an employee, perform the following actions:

  1. On the Attendance Exception page, click the Add Exception button to add the exception details. The form appears.

  2. In the select an employee search box, enter the name or number of an employee to whom you want to add the exception details.

  3. From the Start Date and End Date dropdown calendars, select the relevant dates.ย

  4. From the Status dropdown list, select the required status of the exception.

  5. In the Reason text box, enter the valid reason.

  6. Click Save to save the exception details. A success message appears.ย

Note: You can also edit the exception details using the Edit icon available on the required row.
