Generate API credentials in greytHR-Tally integration

Updated inย September- 2024 |ย Subscribe to watch greytHR how-to video

The API credentials include an API key or secret key, which serves as a secure and authenticated way for one system to communicate and access data with another, often for the purpose of retrieving or sending data.ย

The greytHR-Tally Integration feature simplifies and automates the direct transfer of Payroll JV from greytHR to Tally, eliminating the need for manual intervention. To support this integration process, API users need to access information within greytHR that provides connectivity and data access with Tally.
To pave the way for this integration, greytHR's Implementation team must enable the role of API users and generate the API credentials for the greytHR admins.

To view the API Users page, navigate to My Account > API Users.

Note: As an admin, you can manage and control the activities that a user can perform from the User Roles page. The page allows you to control the access for API Users Provisioning in the greytHR application

To generate the API credentials, perform the following actions:

  1. From the greytHR Admin portal, navigate to My Account > API Users. The API Users page opens.

  2. Click Create API User. The Add API user pop-up appears.

  3. In the User Name text box, enter a suitable name for the user.

  4. In the Description text box, enter a relevant description of the user.

  5. From the Select Roles section, select the Employee API and Salary API checkboxes to define the role of the API user. The selected roles appear in the adjacent box.ย
Note: You can select more than one role.

  6. Click Next. A pop-up appears with the User Name and Password for the created API user.
Note: Please ensure to copy the User Name and Password.

  7. Click Done to complete the generation of the API credentials.

Note: The API credentials (User Name and Password) that you have just generated are crucial for integrating greytHR with Tally.
